November 14, 2016) Franklin, Kentucky
A major new medical development in Franklin is officially underway.
The Chamber of Commerce held a ground breaking ceremony on October 20
for the Red Oak Medical Plaza, a new healthcare facility that promises
to offer residents a wide variety of primary and specialty care
The medical plaza, which is located just off Memorial Drive, is
currently under construction. It is scheduled to open the spring of
2017. Dr. Rob Wesley, will serve as one of the facility’s two
full-time primary care physicians.
Once completed, the plaza will be equipped with the two physicians, a
walk-in clinic (which will be open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week) and
a full-time pharmacy, as well as a dialysis clinic and physical
therapy and home care services. Additionally, Wesley said six or seven
healthcare specialty areas will be represented within the facility.
Lab, x-ray and ultrasound services will be available as well.
Graves-Gilbert Clinic will be one of the occupants of the medical
facility, and Wesley will practice under its umbrella. Dr. Karuna
Reddy joins him as the plaza’s second full-time physician. Other
occupants include Lifeline Home Health and Riley White Drugs.
“Those of us who live in Franklin know how lucky we are to have such
an outstanding medical community,” said Chamber of Commerce Executive
Director Steve Thurmond. “Certainly the addition of Rob Wesley has
been a huge benefit to our community and what Rob is doing here today
certainly demonstrates that.”
Through his role with Graves Gilbert, Wesley is serving as chief
architect of the project. At the ceremony, he was quick to thank
others in the community for their respective roles.
“The reality is none of this would have happened without other
people,” he stated. The Franklin-Simpson Chamber of Commerce, Franklin
Bank and Trust and Graves Gilbert Clinic were among organizations he
said helped make the project a reality.“This is something that has
been an idea of mine for awhile, but it could not have happened
without Graves Gilbert and their resources,” Dr. Wesley stated.
Moments after the ground breaking ceremony for the Red Oak Medical
Plaza, a ribbon cutting ceremony took place across the street for
Graves Gilbert Clinic Walk-In Care, which will be in operation until
the plaza is completed.
“As we grow as a community with industry coming in, I think this is
going to meet a need,” said Wesley. “I love Franklin, and I’m just so
delighted that we’ve been able to do this for the community.”
