For the fifth time since they opened in 2002, New Mather Metals is
expanding in Simpson County.
The company is investing $12 million in building and equipment which
will add approximately 49,000 square feet to their building in the
Sanders Interstate Industrial Park plus additional parking spaces for
the facility. The additional space, which is being constructed by
Scott, Murphy, and Daniel brings New Mather Metal's total square
footage to approximately 379,000 square feet, making it one of the
largest industrial buildings in Franklin.
The company will employ close to 600 people making New Mather Metals
the second largest employer in Simpson County.
New Mather Metals, is a subsidiary of NHK Spring Company, Ltd of
Yokohama, Japan. The Franklin facility is the largest stabilizer bar
manufacturer in the United States and the world, manufacturing both
solid and seam-welded, hollow tube stabilizer bars for the automotive
industry. These suspension stabilizer bars are found in all types of
on and off-road passenger cars, pickup trucks, SUV's, and ATV's across

facility over the last 15 years become almost four times larger than
the original one built in 2002.

Simpson County Judge Executive Jim Henderson noted that the continued
expansion of New Mather Metals is a "great compliment to our community
and to the state of Kentucky."
"We promised the company back in 2002 that Franklin was an ideal area
to locate and be able to grow their business," Henderson said. "We
keep seeing the results of this as New Mather Metals continues to
expand every few years."
Mayor Ronnie Clark expressed his pleasure in regard to the expansion
"New Mather Metals is providing nearly 600 jobs for the citizens of
Simpson County as well as other areas of south central Kentucky,"
Clark said. "We are truly blessed to have this outstanding company as
a part of our community. They have been one of our top industries for
many years in Franklin and I appreciate the great job the employees
and the management team does for this area."
