Worldwide Technologies to Expand in Franklin

Worldwide Technologies located in the Wilkey North Industrial Park plans to expand its operations in Franklin.
The company was recently approved for incentives under the Kentucky Business Investment (KBI) program. Worldwide Technologies is adding 14 new jobs in the next couple of years and investing $475,000 in new equipment as a part of their expansion.
The company was established in 2006 and occupies a 27,000 square foot building in the northern part of Franklin. Mike Jones and Kenny Whitworth are the owners of Worldwide Technologies. The manufacturing facility is a machine shop and provides production machining for industries throughout Kentucky and Tennessee.
“We are very pleased to continue growing in Franklin,” Jones, president of Worldwide Technologies said. “Our new expansion will allow us to increase our production for our customer base. We have been very pleased with the workforce we have been able to find in the area. The Franklin community has been good to us and we are glad that we will be able to create some additional jobs for the community.”
Gary Broady, chairman of the Franklin Simpson Industrial Authority expressed his delight in the announcement of the expansion.
“We have watched Worldwide Technologies grow over the past 10 years into one of the leading manufacturing facilities in Franklin,” Broady said. “Besides their nearly one half million dollars investment in their facility, Worldwide Technologies will soon be employing some 80 people. They are the kind of industry that every community hopes to attract to their area.”
Worldwide Technologies was named the Industry of the Year in 2016 for the Franklin and Simpson County area.
